The Hidden Story Of The Quakers And The Underground Railroad (Part 1)

In this episode we meet up with our Quaker Friends to learn about their Meetings, faith, and the Alamance County Quaker's role in the Underground Railroad. This is part of a multi-episode series where we travel to Snow Camp, NC and surrounding areas to discover some lesser-known history surrounding the Quakers of NC.

In the first installment, our generous host, Ron Osborne along with his friends James Shields and Max Carter take us to the Spring Friends Meeting which was established over 260 years ago in 1761. It's here that we learn about the Quaker faith in the past and present as well as details about their involvement in slavery and differing viewpoints across meetings.

Be sure to join us in the following episodes as well where we continue the journey and visit an outdoor theater space as well as a massive witness tree which was a stop along the way on the Underground Railroad!
